Math- Homework and Multiplication Testing

Please remember to turn your homework in by Friday!☺

Multiplication Facts are winding down for the first go around.........

We are finishing up with 4's, 7's and 8's!

SO THANKFUL for the Commutative Property of Multiplication because that means we already know pretty much all those facts already!!!!

4's-  new facts to learn:   4x4    4x7   4x8    **(already know 1,2,3,5,6, 9, 10's =)
Strategy- double your doubles
for 4x4 think 2x4 is 8 and double the 8=16.

7's-   new facts to learn: 7x7   7x8
We have jingles for both of them!
Evan and Kevin rang the chimes, 7x7 is 49.
Numbers line up in a row, numbers line up, ain't it great, 5, 6, 7, 8;    56= 7x8.
(We also know Jess and Sue got the flu, 6 x7 is 42.)

8's- the ONLY fact left-    8x8
JINGLE-   I ate and I ate and got sick on the floor, 8x8 is 64.

Test on these facts will be next Monday!

Class News:
* Finishing up with Area and Perimeter-  FRACTIONS are in our VERY near FUTURE!

I've been encouraging the kids to volunteer to help with recipes that involve measuring and using fractions at home.  Hands on/Real World application make Fractions come alive and MAKE SENSE!

Thank you SO MUCH for helping to make your child's 3rd grade year AWESOME!

Thank you......

Just wanted to take a moment to simply say, "Thank You."

I am humbled and blessed to work and live in a community where people still truly care about each other.  The passing of my father-in-law last Friday morning left us shaken and hurting, but the love and outpouring of prayers and support gave us strength during such a difficult time.

May peace and love abound in and around your lives, in your homes and families!
Love,
Mrs. Cook
